Our Beliefs

We are Reformed Presbyterians and a congregation of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America (RPCNA).

  • Reformed means that we follow the biblical principles of the Protestant Reformation: the ultimate authority is Scripture alone and we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone, and all unto God’s glory alone.

  • Presbyterian refers to our form of church government, where each congregation is under the oversight of elected elders who are part of higher church courts known as presbyteries.

Our main goal is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.

Bible

Scripture

Our beliefs stem from a full commitment to the authority of the Bible as the inerrant, infallible Word of God. According to 2 Timothy 3:16, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” We believe in the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe we are totally unable to save ourselves and, in faith, we depend on Christ alone as our Savior. We acknowledge Him as our Lord in every area of life, and we vow together to advance His Kingdom on earth.

Worship

We believe that the Bible sets forth how God is to be worshiped. Accordingly, the reading and exposition of the Word of God are the central focus of our worship services. Our musical praise employs God’s Word only, making use of the book of Psalms. In harmony with the biblical directive in Ephesians 5:19 to “sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,” we sing without the aid of musical instruments. You can view our order of worship here.

A capella psalm singing (i.e., the singing of psalms without instrumental accompaniment) is a distinctive feature of our church. It is a beautiful and biblical way to praise God! You can learn more about psalm singing here.

Doctrine

We believe that God desires His Church to set forth clear statements of her system of doctrine that can be supported from Scripture. We therefore accept as our subordinate standards The Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms. In addition to these doctrinal statements, we adhere to the Testimony of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America, which is our continuing application of God’s written word to the world and the church of today. You can read these subordinate standards here.
